A delegation of students from the Russian University of Petegorsky visited the Monastery of St. Virgin Mary in Dronka Mountain in Assiut Governorate, as it is one of the most important archaeological and religious monuments in the province. It also helps to promote tourism and introduce other cultures to the ancient Egyptian culture and the ancient history of the Egyptians.
This visit comes within the framework of the visit of the delegation to the University of Assiut, which takes two months to study the Arabic language and Islamic civilization.
Dr. Salah Abu Elhawa, director of the Russian Language Center at the university and coordinator of relations of the University of Assiut with Russia, said that the delegation includes 9 students, which is the ninth delegation of the University of Petegorsky and twenty in the history of the relations between Assiut University and Russian universities, according to the agreements signed between Assiut University and a number of Russian universities, which dates back more than twenty years of exchange between student.
The members of the delegation expressed their happiness to visit the Monastery of St. Virgin Mary and the good reception and hospitality while they were at the University of Assiut. They also praised the fact that the governorate of Assiut is one of the archeological and historical monuments.
