The idea of establishing a Coptic cultural center was in the heart and mind of the Triple Beatified Pope Shenouda III. The dream was attained during his papacy, as the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center was established. However, this idea also occupied the thought of His Holiness Pope Tawadros II since he was a monk in Al Beheira. It was in his mind and heart to establish a cultural center in the location of his ministry, and indeed he set the project of establishing this center, has contacted foreign bodies concerning it, yet the reply came to him that such huge great work shall be for the entire Church. The Divine Hand has chosen His Holiness to continue the journey, so, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, was entitled to be called the Patron of Culture and Knowledge. Thus, the work and concern of culture continued during the papacy of His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, in continuance for the Church’s pursuing to the father Patriarchs’ approach, starting with St. Mark the Apostle, the preacher of our country, who established the Theological school of Alexandria which was the light stand of the world. The journey continues through centuries and years until it reaches the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center and is resumed by our father, the Pastor of Pastors, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, may the Lord keeps his papacy for many years and long peaceful times.
