The people of the Coptic hospital Church in Mahram Beik demand the governor of Alexandria to complete it’s construction

On March 20,  Sameh Zaghloul lawyer of the Virgin Mary Church in Coptic hospital In  Mohram Beik, mad a request to Engineer Mohammed Abdul Zahir Governor of Alexandria on behalf of the people of the church to allow to complete the church development work, which already has a license issued in   2002 from center Alexandria District, but was not implemented till Now .

The lawyer of the church said, that the people of the church suffers from not being able to hold prayers at the festives or at the Holy Week preceding Easter holiday due to the small church space, which does not exceed fifty square meters, forcing the worshipers to stand on the steps of the hospital and in the streets in front of the church.
Center of Alexandria district has issued License No. 191 of 2002 that allows the Church to establish a separate entrance from the entrance of the hospital and build two rooms for the church and back-stairs.

But these constructions have not been done so far because of the intransigence of the therapeutic Foundation owning the Hospital, which banned the church from beginning the development work since the issuance of the license in 2002 until now.

The people of the church have shown in the applications they filed to the governor of Alexandria their commitment to develop the third-class dormitory in the hospital and become a Department for elderly, and that on their own expense and from their donations, and this is the agreement the therapeutic institution concluded with the church in 2002, in return that the church be developed  , but later they reneged on that agreement and rejected the completion of any construction in the church.

Lawyer of the church, said he had already submitted a request for the previous governor, “Hany Elmessiri” with the same demands, but it was ignored, and added that they only want that the church  be developed in accordance with the license issued and do not get exposed to any annoyance from the therapeutic institution or hospital staff.
