Introduced by: His Grace Bishop Ermia
The General Bishop and Head of the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center
Prepared by:
Deacon Dr. Eng. Fakhry Sadek Gerges
Foreword
Our Coptic language is the language of the Church’s prayers, praises and rituals since Christianity has entered Egypt. It is also the language used by the Church fathers in writing down its scriptures, which made this language a bearer of the Church’s heritage.
We have preferred to introduce the book “Teach Yourself How to Read Coptic Language” prepared by Deacon Dr. Eng. Fakhry Sadek Gerges, to all who desire to learn the language of the church prayers, pleading for God to make this book a reason of blessing to many, and to reward Dr. Fakhry Sadek for the effort he exerted with a heavenly reward, through the prayers of the Preacher of Egyptian homes St. Mark the Apostle and our father His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, the 118th Patriarch of Alexandria and See of St. Mark.
