Today Grand Sheikh of Al Azhar Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb and the Mufti Dr. Shawki Allam greeted HH Pope Tawadros II for easter at St. Mark Cathedral in Abbasia.
Sheikh of Al-Azhar said in a press statement on the sidelines of his visit to the Cathedral, that greeting the Pope in the heart of the Church reflect the old and deep brotherly love relationship that will remain between them forever and ever.
HH Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria confirmed what the Grand Imam said and described the visit of the Imam and Minister of Awqaf and the Mufti of the Republic as a beautiful Day in which love and brotherhood feelings is renewed.
From his part, Minister of Awqaf said that the visit confirms that religious institutions are all at the heart of one man and that everyone is standing on one floor to build and reconstruct in order to send a message to the whole world that there is no place for chaos, violence and terrorism.
