“HH Pope Tawadros II: King Salman is keen to fight terrorism”

HH Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark, said that King Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, is keen to reunite and heal Arab rift, and the Unity of the Arab-Determination, pointing out that Saudi Arabia under the leadership of King Salman played a strategic role in fighting terrorism. 

Pope Tawadros added in statements to Saudi newspaper “Okaz”, that he found in the King Salman, political charismatic and love, not only for Egypt, but for all the peoples of the Arab and Islamic nations, He is the leader and veteran commander, who is keen to fortify the Arab House and defend it’s rights. 

His Holiness pointed out that the terrorists are distorting the image of religions which are innocent from these despicable actions, stressing the importance of dialogue between cultures and religions and the contribution of various religions followers in rebounding the understanding between human beings and peoples which serve humanity.

His Holiness pointed out that Saudi Arabia’s support for Egypt is not surprising, especially King Salman declaration of establishing a land bridge as a gift to Egyptian people, noting that the current visit of the king to Egypt is an inauguration of a new phase of Saudi – Egyptian relations, and rebuild the joint Arab action rules, and stressing that the deepening of relations between Saudi Arabia and Egypt is one of the basic pillars, that represent an important factor and basis in solving the region’s problems.

Noteworthy, two days ago, King Salman met, HH Pope Tawadros II, on the sidelines of his visit to Cairo.
