HH Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the see of Saint Mark, mourned Egyptian scientist Ahmed Zewail, who died yesterday in the United States at the age of 70.
His Holiness Said in his weekly sermon at Anba Bishoy monastery: ” We offer our condolences to Egypt for the departure of Dr. Ahmed Zewail, one of Egypt and world scientists, a truthful person to Egypt, and being awarded the Nobel Prize in chemistry in 1999 was a reason for pride and joy to Egypt .. he is one of the scholars who was raised in its schools. ” His holiness concluded: “He was honored at the international level in front of the whole world, and he loved Egypt and lasted visiting Egypt and taking care of it and its’ development and all thought in it.”
