HH Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the see of St. Mark, met on Wednesday at the Monastery of St. Bishoy in Wadi Al Natroun with US delegation as part of their Interfaith tour , The meeting was In the framework of the implementation of the recommendations of women empowerement “Taa Marbouta” conference, attended by thirty of the top Egyptian women abroad which was held under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi.
At the beginning of the meeting, Pope Twadros welcomed the delegation that included 40 influential figures from Orange County, southern California, and expressed his happiness of their visit to Egypt for the first time and was keen to exchange points of view, as well as to get to know Egypt closely.
And stressed on the unity of Egyptians and strong cohesion between them while facing all attempts to separate them, adding that Egyptians give example in strength and Union, referring to the history of Egypt, explaining that Pharaonic, Coptic and Islamic civilizations intersect with each other which formed the unique Egyptian culture.
The delegation members expressed their happiness for meeting with Pope Twadros, and for his compassion and humanity, which reflects Egyptian originality, stressing on their desire to visit Egypt again and to learn more about its culture, religions and people.
