HH Pope Tawadros II, met on Tuesday at the papal abode in St. Mark Cathedral in Abbassiya, with Ambassador Hazem Fahmy, Secretary General of the Egyptian agency for partnership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs accompanied by a delegation of TV presenters and African journalists. The delegation arrived in Cairo and met with a number of state officials and sheikh of Al-Azhar for the purpose to identify Egypt potential. The ambassador expressed his happiness and profound gratitude to His Holiness for meeting with the delegation and answering questions. For his part, the Pope expressed his joy to meet him and the delegation and spoke about the rich history of Egypt and the Egyptian civilization.
His Holiness invited them to visit ancient monasteries and churches, and enjoy its beauty, stressing the existence of good relations with the officials and with sheikh Al-Azhar, and explained the role of the Egyptian Family House and co-existence. His Holiness praised the role of President Abdel Fattah Sisi in security and development, also explained the role of the church that extended in many countries around the world in Africa and Europe and its role in the development of society.
He stressed that Egyptian have a quiet nature and the war against terrorism involve all Egyptians for national unity and love, because unity is the way to stand strong against any violence.
In another question for deflating the Middle East from Christians, the Pope said: This is a major world catastrophe We must not forget that Christianity and Judaism originated in the Middle East, and that God wanted that these religions are present her and His Holiness wished that the situation get better in Syria.
