HG Bishop Ermia, General Bishop and Head of The Coptic Orthodox Cultural center, delivered a speech at “Together to elect a President and face conspiracies” seminar held on Monday, March 12, 2018 at the headquarters of the Middle East News Agency. A number of Islamic and Christian religion, senior public, party, parliamentary and political figures took part at the seminar and delivered speeches.
“All Egyptians have to think and act positively and participate in the upcoming presidential elections,” His Grace said. “Those who refuse to participate in the elections will be like the soldier who escapes the battle.”
He added: “Without positivity we will not bring a bright future to the country and acting positively is the first step to success,” noting that the upcoming period is sensitive and need positivity from every Egyptian.
His Grace drew attention to the danger that lies in the negative thoughts saying “We must understand, think and see how the world follows our steps as Egyptians”.

He pointed out that the late Pope Kyrillos VI told President Gamal Abdel Nasser, “I want to teach my people about God , to love their country and true brotherhood, and this showed up when Copts took to the streets and called the late President Gamal Abdel Nasser to continue leading the country and not to step down as they believed in him.”
His Grace also quoted Pope Shenouda III words: “Egypt is not a country we live in but a country that lives within us” and said that Pope Shenouda carried Egypt in his heart, like all Egyptians.
He stressed that the future belongs to the great people of Egypt who are aware of the facts, who are positive and managed to go through all the previous crises and can push Egypt to safety and a great stable future, at the end he mentioned the achievements made during the past four years in political, economic and social axes.
