Judge Monsef Najib Suleiman lawyer of the Coptic church and member of the General Communal Council of Copts Orthodox, confirmed the existence of a papal decision to sue any producer or drama maker who produce an artistic work about late Pope Shenouda’s life, without a written permission from the Coptic Church, as it has the right to do so, as the late Pope lived as a monk relinquished public life and faithful to his monastery and church.
The lawyer of the Church explained, in a statement for “Youm7”, that any ideological or technical errors in the artistic work about Pope Shenouda’s life that is done without the church permission may cause strife and anger among the general Coptic people, who loved Pope Shenouda and will not be happy for any err in the course of his life, or in the Church traditions.
This comes after scriptwriter Medhat Al-Adl announced his intention to produce a TV series about the life of the late Pope, before falling back to productivity reasons.
In another context, St. Bishoy monastery of the Coptic Orthodox Church, Wadi El-Natrun, produced documentary movie the “Shrine” on CDs which embodies the late life (Pope Shenouda III) from his birth until his death and burial in his shrine in Anba Bishoy monastery.
