The Minister of Culture Hilmy Al-Namnam attended on Monday, 31 August, The seminar organized at in Al – Fustat House by The Egyptian Media Forum headed by Maj. Gen. Tariq Al-Mahdi, in presence of Dr. Essam Sharaf- The former Prime Minister and The Head of Sharaf Foundation for Development, Anba Ermia -The Head of The Coptic Cultural Center and The Vice-President of The Forum- Dr. Hassan Rateb, and Dr. Ahmed Al-Shouki- The Head of The General Organization of Books And National Documents .
The Minister said that the media is the document of the events , praising both The establishment of Media Union, headed by Hamdi Al-Kenisi and the establishment of The National Council of Media And Press, explaining that media is how the information is formulated and how it is transmitted to the audience. The Egyptian media played an important role in the fatal moments that faced Egypt .He added that the Egyptian media presents the national identity.
Dr. Essam Sharaf said that we can not face the internal and external challenges of our country without achieving the internal strong unity , by accepting the difference of the other because the other exists in this country will always exist.
HG Anba Ermia explained that the concept of enlightenment means to agree on the value of the homeland.
He pointed out that the Forum is a national project for Egypt, the country in which we live and grow up and It provides a working vision for all Egyptians and aims to mobilize the positive energies within Egyptians.
For his part, Major General Tariq Al-Mahdi, spoke about the vision of civil society in the industry of public awareness.
Dr. Hassan Rateb explained that this forum is trying to search for professional standers of the great media, stressing the most important issue of the forum is how you can safeguard your cultural identity without being captive to it, and go towards modernity without being obsessed with it.
The forum called all specialists, experts and university professors in their respective fields to prepare research papers in coordination with the Egyptian Media Forum to be discussed in the upcoming forums.
The forum witnessed a national demonstration where the Egyptian Media Forum succeeded to put the record straight regarding the role of the media in launching the first step of the community consensus on a national project for enlightenment, considering that the media is the real enlightenment channel if it is used well and managed its human resources and their creative potential efficiently.
