Tourism Minister Yehia Rashed said that Pope Francis’ visit to Cairo was a response to the visit of Dr. Ahmed al-Tayeb, Sheikh of Al-Azhar.
During his interview with program “Happening in Egypt,” Rashed said that before Pope Francis’ visit to Cairo, he agreed with Vatican officials to promote the Holy Family trip to Egypt, stressing that Vatican officials will pin the Holy Family’s journey to Egypt on the world tourism map.
The Minister of Tourism said that the Pope’s visit to Egypt will improve the image of Egypt abroad, pointing out that there are 130 channels and 38 news sites worldwide, mentioned the Pope’s safe visit to Egypt.
