The Library of St. Marks was inaugurated on January 26, 2010, by His Holiness late Pope Shenouda III, to offer various forms of religious and public sources, both traditional and advanced, to the public and researchers. As the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center belief in the importance of public libraries for nations and peoples, in spreading culture, literature and arts.
The library contains printed and electronic sources in various fields, including religious , architecture, literature, history, poetry, culture, etc. It also contains a collection of rare books and an archive of Coptic documents.
And preparations are underway to link the Library electronically to the libraries of monasteries, churches and various academic institutions inside and outside Egypt.
His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, inaugurated the electronic library and e-learning department on 18/11/2014.

The library includes internal reading and borrowing sections for children to make the Coptic heritage a simple and interesting material for them, through practical and advanced means, which are specially designed for the child. There are also many activities such as story telling and workshops to develop hand craft skills to develop ethics and manner of the child through Coptic heritage.
In order to enhance the abilities of its visitors, the Library conduct book discussion sessions alongside book and photo reading activities to develop children’s talents and abilities, to enhance the abilities and skills of individuals, develop them, spread different cultures and reading culture in the community.
