For the fourth time in a row a marvel astrological phenomenon took place in Archangel Michael Church in Kafr Al-Deir in Minya El-Amh. Sun rays stand on St. George altar and the carcass during the Mass on St. George Feast on Monday 1/5/2017.
Fr. Wissa Hefzi, church priest said “This phenomenon happen three times each year on St. George feast, May 1, Archangel Micheal feast June 19, and St. Mary feast on August 22.
This phenomenon, is similar to solar illumination of King Ramses II at Abu Simbel, on his birth anniversary and the day he took office.
I invite everyone to follow the blessing on this day and enjoy watching this amazing phenomenon on St. George Feast”.
“The Coptic artist who built this church was not only a brilliant engineer but a very astute and precise astronomer, as if he inherited this science from his ancestors pharaohs, He managed to make the sun’s rays stand on the three altars on the Feast of each of its saints even though they are in the same place” said engineer Magdi Feltous, an architect and member of the restoration team.
