The court confirmed a set of legal principles in this area, the most important it prohibited the demolition of churches or converting it to another purpose than worship and that the sale of the Patriarchate of the Greek Orthodox Church in intention to demolish it is contrary to public order and the rule of the Supreme Constitutional Court, which equated the mosque and the church being a house of worship.
For the first time the court accepted the intervention of Pope Twadros in order to protect the church from demolition as he is a religious symbol of Christianity, regardless of denominations and sects, the court also confirmed the banning of church demolition even if it is sold with a registered contract and even if there is an adjudication because the constitutional rule transcends all other rules.
He also confirmed that the advisory opinion Committee of Al-Azhar in response to an inquiry from the court stated that the non-Muslims worship places in the lands of Islam has protection right and it cannot be destroyed and if it is destroyed it should be rebuilt.
