His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the see of St. Mark, met yesterday at the Logos Center at the Papal Residence at the Monastery of St. Bishoy in Wadi El Natroun, with the priests and heads of the Egyptian Churches Council in the Gulf States.
According to an official statement, the meeting was attended by Anba Julius, Bishop of old Cairo Churches and Services diocese, Fr. Sergius Sergius, Patriarchal rapporteur of Cairo, and a number of monks and priests who serve in the churches of the Gulf.
The Pope divided Jerusalem Diocese and churches after the death of Metropolitan Abraham, who oversaw this Diocese, to Kuwait which is now part of the Jerusalem diocese, while the rest of the Gulf churches are part of the Papacy headquarters and are overseen by Anba Julius.
Pope Tawadros has been meeting with the Church’s servants, church officials and young people abroad to connect them to their motherland as he met yesterday as well by video-conference New Jersey Church youth.
