Engineer Sami Fahim was born on 24 August 1942, in Damanhur, Beheira. He grew up in a very modest family and is the youngest brother.
He achieved his dream of joining the Faculty of Engineering, Alexandria University in 1957. Although curriculums were difficult at that time, he received very good grade in engineering that no one had ever received.
He received 48 pounds reward from the university, 4 pounds per month to support him in study expenses … He was the youngest graduated from the college in 1963.
He was assigned to work at El Nasr company for Household Appliances, affiliate of Engineering Industries Corporation of the Ministry of Industry.
He got married in 1971, from engineer Mary, and they have three children. Despite being busy all the time, he was keen to educate them and share their interest together.
He climbed the career ladder until he reached the head of the design and drawing office, and for his outstanding workmanship, successes and experience He was assigned by the Presidency office to travel to Nigeria to work in the manufacture of metal furniture, and because his love for his homeland he returned to Egypt to begin it’s reconstruction after the 1973 war.
He started his own business with a colleague when they returned together from Nigeria and rented a place in alAmiria. They bought the equipment and started working, despite that he reached high positions in the governmental business sector, but he left all this to work full time at his small project until he gained market confidence. The small project turned into a group of companies employing thousands of workers. They also carried out and participated in many projects, including the establishment of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, the Islamic Museum, the Public Library, the National Library, Documentation House, the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center, St. Mark general library and The National Library and Archives.
Waived of the basic companies to his late partner Abdul Hadi Abdul Moneim and He currently owns a factory and a commercial company in the 10th of Ramadan.
His Holiness Pope Shenouda III, assigned him the General Engineering Committee responsible for the establishment of the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center, and the supervision of the Engineering Committee of the Cathedral.

Honors
•He was honored on Labor Day for three consecutive years, and was awarded the Ideal Engineer award for 3 consecutive years.
•He was honored for his national works as the best engineer in Alexandria from Engineers Syndicate in Alexandria in 2007.
•He received a certificate of appreciation from the University of Alexandria, and received many international honors.
Upon reaching the age of 60, he decided to retire to serve the Church and became a member of the Board of Trustees of St. Paul the Apostle Church, saying that he will dedicate the next 6 years to serve the Lord.
