On Monday, August 26, 2024, Anba Ermia, the General Bishop and head of the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center, welcomed Captain Pilot Merola Magued, Egypt’s youngest captain.
Bishop Ermia congratulated her on earning three pilot licenses, making her the first woman from Asyut and the youngest female pilot to achieve this.
Merola successfully completed 36 solo flight hours and obtained her captain’s license at just 21 years old. They also discussed her achievements and ways to support ambitious Egyptian youth.
At the end of the meeting, Pilot Merola Magued learned about the activities and services offered by the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center. She also toured the Patriarchal Museum and the Coptic Panorama.
