The prosecutor of North Cairo has decided to dismiss Dr. Yasser Burhamy, Vice President of the Salafi Islamist Movement, on Monday from prison, based on his own recognizance after hearing his testimony on the report filed against him by the lawyer Naguib Gabriel, who accused him of obstructing the Constitution, slandering Christians, and insulting the celestial faiths, with the background of Burhamy appearing on the MBC channel with anchorman Sherif Amer, and speaking about a non-Muslim being handed the presidency. Burhamy stated that the term “infidel”, which stems from the Qur’an and Sunni creed, as a description of any non-Muslim does not constitute an insult to the Christian faith, emphasizing his concern to protect Copts in their persons, their money, and their honor, never assaulting them.
