A large gathering of representatives of Iraq’s minorities, including Christians, Yazidis and Shabak, confirmed their wish to form a territory for themselves in the province of the plains of Nineveh in Iraq. The request was met with a flat refusal by some, and welcoming of others. The region of Kurdistan was one of the most prominent parties to endorse this request.
