The Joint Archaeological Committee, in cooperation with Interior Ministry have completed the first phase of listing the Holy Family antiquities on the global tourism map project.
Gamal Mostafa, director of castle antiquities, said that the committee has adopted the Holy Family path defined by the Orthodox Church and approved by His Holiness Pope Anba Tewadros II.
Mustafa pointed out that the first phase included preparing Abu Sarja church and its surrounding area in old Cairo as well as the monasteries of Wadi al-Natroun in Beheira, the tree of St.Mary in Mattaria, Gabal El Ter archaeological monastery in Minya and archaeological constructions in Assiut.
The Committee has begun the second phase two days ago and is due to be completed as soon as possible to commence the work of the third and final phase.
