Maronite Patriarch Mar Beshara Botros Al-Raaï: We expect of Christian politicians a voice to emerge with our country from the presidential crisis

Maronite Patriarch Mar Beshara Botros Al-Raaï has stated: “We expect of Christian politicians a voice to emerge with our country from the presidential void crisis, and the paralysis of institutions, to drive those with good patriotic wills to face economic, social and security challenges. The patriarch emphasized in the Sunday Mass sermon “the necessity of Christians existing in the Arab world today, more than any times past”, pointing out that “the role of the Church and Christians in Lebanon and Middle Eastern countries is to preserve the image of God in every human being. He added, “Where evil is repeated, as is the case in our Arab world, with wars, conflicts, terrorism and violence, with the rise of orthodox infidel-labeling and terrorist groups, the need becomes greater for the presence of the Church and Christians.” He demanded of the concerned civilian authorities that they “practice justice towards those who practice evil, assaulting others, be it physically, or in terms of their rights or belongings.
