The Coptic Orthodox Church of Egypt issued a statement in which it commemorated the martyrs of the two bombings of St. George church in Tanta and St. Mark Church in Alexandria, where 44 died and 127 were injured while attending Palm Sunday Mass, carrying palm fronds and celebrating Jesus Christ triumphal entry into Jerusalem Carrying the message of peace, preaching for love and peace to all human beings.
The Church’s statement continued: “Martyrs lost their lives- by the enemies of humanity and the enemies of peace and those who carry the tools of destruction, but now martyrs with the whole Church pray to just god who sees and hears and writes in the apocalyptic. the church also mourn policemen and pray for the recovery of injured.
The statement added: God save Egypt and all its children from the onslaught of hatred that seeks to destroy the walls of the homeland and tear down its human fabric, which embodied its great heritage of unity, cohesion and coexistence.
The statement concluded: God save Egypt and all its people from all darkness,the spirit of hatred and all evil.
