Within the framework of his pastoral service at his diocese, HG Metropolitan Anthonios, Metropolitan of Jerusalem and the Near East, visited the Church in Kuwait.
The visit began on Wednesday, June 1st, where he arrived to Kuwait International Airport at noon, accompanied by Father Antonios Sobhi priest of the Coptic Orthodox Church in Jordan and was welcomed by Her Eminence Ambassador Howayda Essam, Consul General of Egypt to the State of Kuwait and Mr. Ali Ali, Director General of Protocol at the Egyptian embassy on behalf of Ambassador Yasser Atef.
And church leaders in Kuwait, Bishop Ghattas Hazim, bishop of the Greek Orthodox church, along with Archimandrite Afram El-Taemi, Bishop Masis Archbishop of the Armenian Orthodox church, Father Ozwal Lehhian, Father Raymon Eid, Father Angelios Saoud from the Catholic Church on behalf of Bishop Camillo Balin, father Botrous Gharib from the Roman Catholic Church and Rev. Emmanuel Gharib pastor, priests of the Coptic Orthodox Church in Kuwait and a number of Copts in Kuwait.
After a welcome session at the hall honors in the airport, His Eminence went to the church where he prayed thanksgiving prayer with large numbers of Coptic people.
At Thursday and Friday His Eminence attended a welcome ceremony, and prayed the mass on Friday morning, and then distributed the thirteenth annual festival of Primary stage contest prizes and in the evening honored high school graduates.
And on Saturday morning His Eminence held the mass,and left Kuwait toward Lebanon.
It is worth mentioning that this is the first visit of the new Bishop of Jerusalem to the State of Kuwait since his ordination in February 28.
The Diocese of the Holy of Jerusalem and the Near East, include Kuwait, Syria, Lebanon, Iraq and Jordan and Jerusalem.
