His Holiness Pope Tawadros II led yesterday Ecclesiastical School known as Sunday school 100th anniversary celebration, which was founded by deacon St. Habib Gerges who was recognized saint by the Holy Synod during His Holiness Pope Tawadros II reign. The celebration was held at Anba Roweiss theater in St. Mark Cathedral.
Guests were greeted by the Choir of the Cathedral of St. Mark, who chanted some of the glorious resurrection hymns and some national songs on the stairs of the Anba Roweiss Theater.
The theme of the celebration was “A candle light a candle”. Book about the history of Sunday schools was distributed to the guests and a documentary film was presented under the name “Life Schools”, directed by well known director Samir Seif and actor Lotfy Labib.
The ceremony was attended by Minister Nabila Makram, Minister of Immigration and Affairs of Egyptians Abroad and a large number of bishops, priests, members of the house of representative and public figures.
