We dealt with the issue of deep listening that enables a person to truly understand others. A deep thinker would opt for understanding others deeply so he reflectively would listen to them. We also indicated that there is a close relation between wisdom and listening. ; Oliver Holmes, an American Polymath, said, “It is the province of knowledge to speak, and it is the privilege of wisdom to listen.” Deep listening is one of the wise’ traits. They learn from others’ mistakes. There is a saying that goes like, “Listen to the wise and the ignorant, the first would add to your knowledge and the second to your patience.” The deeper you listen, the deeper you reflect on matters; thus you would be able to help others to overcome their problems, apprehend their deep thoughts and feelings; accordingly support their good choices and help them adopt the right vision of matters.
Deep listening leads to strike a deep interaction. As shallow interactions and imbalanced behaviors are definite results of not listening deeply to others.
A person who studies his actions would not rush to judgment or believe in every word he listens to. But he would rather be a balanced and rational person. He would also resort to the moral principles he believes in, respect each and every one, turn the other cheek if someone hurts his feelings and never retaliate. Moreover, He carries on his shoulders the responsibility of toiling in life with a positive attitude.
A person who knows how to exchange deep conversations would appreciate the element of time. He would never carry grudges. He evades thinking excessively of the past glories and weeping on its sorrows. Furthermore, he is distinguished for chasing the chance instead of waiting it, without foiling others’ successful attempts.
Moreover, he realizes that time flies and can’t be restored, thus his turn of mind is for the good of himself and others. We should realize that we can’t restore our passed time; thus let all what we do be done with care.
