Majid Adel, the lawyer of Jamal Kamal Eweida who died on Wednesday morning, 18 July 2017, accused the police station of killing him and said that the police claim that the victim suicided is unacceptable because there are no reasons for the victim to commit suicide. Jamal Eweida is a physically fit young man, not poor and has two children. . He added that he was arrested due to someone who have relations with the police department and was at odds with Gamal as the victim helped people get license and Gamal was also detained in a solo cell.
Adel asked the West Cairo prosecutor’s office at Zinhom court complex for corpse dissection and to interrogate the other person “Ashraf Sami” who was arrested with the victim, adding that anger prevailed people in the areaand protest the killing of the young man.
He added that he had directly accused the police department of killing the young man, pointing out that he may have been subjected to a hit that he could not bear, which will appear in the forensic report.
