Some people say they prefer and lead a simple life. Yet, their concept of simplicity might contravene with that of wisdom.
In Al-Jami’ Dictionary, we find that simplicity is associated with cheerfulness, easy-goingness, and ease of style. A simple person has clear, easily-understood ideas which are void of deception. According to Albert Einstein, “I believe a simple and humble life is the best for everybody. It is best for the body and the mind.”
Simplicity does not mean being naïve or away from life’s depth. Whoever thinks this way is mistaken: for all virtues should have the spirit of love and wisdom. Thus, they are deep. Yet, they are simple in style; hence, they reach all people. Simple people have wisdom and knowledge. Yet, they present them in an easy and understandable manner to others.
A simple person offers others sincere feelings. He has a simple, giving heart. Such persons are sought and pursued by others: for they love others. The simple attract others with their smile, and love which emanates from their pure souls that are void of all sorts of deception. It said, “Be simple in order to attract others to you in a complex world.”
A mere smile or encouraging look can help you move forward and be successful. Remember the simplicity of the glass of milk which Howard Kelly drank as he passed by a house to sell some goods. It helped him renew his self-confidence. So, he became Dr. Howard Kelly who saved many lives. Verily, a sweet smile and simple heart make you feel the beauty of life.
Be simple if you want to be influential. Simplicity is one secret of influencing others. Our life is not complex, but simple. Purity and simplicity are the wings with which man soars from mundane issues to spiritualities and heavenlies. They are characteristic of great souls!
