On Saturday evening, Virgin Mary and Pope Athanasius’s Cathedral in Damanhour held St. Augustine feast vesper, and perfumed his holy relics.
HG Bishop Pachomius metropolitan of Behira, Matrouh and five western cities welcomed HG Bishop Demetrios, Bishop of Malawi, Ansena and Ashmunein as they held vesper prayers and perfumed St. Augustine relics that Bishop Pachomius had brought from Algeria in 1987. This was followed by a sermon delivered by Bishop Demetrios.
St. Augustine is the bishop of Hippo in Algeria, one of the saints of the church who is famous for his sincere repents and confessions that are recorded in his famous book, Confessions of Augustine.
A Sunday morning Mass was held on Sunday at the altar of St. Augustine Cathedral in Damanhour.
